Road Trip to Bicol: Mayon Volcano and Cagsawa Ruins

One of Bicol’s famous tourist spots is the Cagsawa Ruins, where you can also get to view the majestic Mayon Volcano.

The first time I got a glimpse of Mt. Mayon was when we were still in the car from Donsol.  It was so beautiful that I got teary-eyed.  Sorry, drama.  But, it’s true!  I felt so privileged to have been able to witness such creation.  Mt. Mayon is befitting of its name, too, as it’s derived from the Bicolano word, “magayon”, which means beautiful.

The afternoon that we got there, Mt. Mayon was fully covered in clouds.  So, based on the folklore, Ulap was kissing Magayon. :-)

And, because we were determined to see Mt. Mayon and its full beauty, we looked for a room to rent near enough so we could come back the following day.  It was all worth it.  :-)
